And The Bee is the wonderfull movie. The movie tell us about the struggle of a girl who comes from
Crenshaw is Akeelah
Anderson (Keke Palmer)
who participate the Scripps National Spelling Bee
on America from
the region until
national levels. struggle began
when Mrs.Cross handed a flyer about the Scripps
National Spelling Bee. At first, Akeelah not
interested in the contest. But
after she saw the contest on television, she
became interested to participate in the contest. The first step is Spelling Contest at her school. She do it, she can win Spelling at School. After that, Mr.Welch (Curtis Armstrong) orders her to study with Dr. Joshua Larabee (Laurence Fishburne). But when Akeelah comes to Mr. Larabee, he ignore to teach Akeelah, because he feels Akeelah is impolite. So, Akeelah study hard alone.

On the Distrik
step, Akeelah be a lucky contestan because one of participate is discualified,
because he is known unfair by Kiana (Erica Hubbard). After that, Akeelah ask
sorry to Dr. Larabee, and ask him to
teach her because she knows she need a coach.
Mr.
Larabee ask to Akeelah to read an article on the wall. The article is “Our deepest fear is not that we are
inadequate our deepest fear is that we
are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, who am i to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented adn fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing
small doesn’t serve the world. We were born to make manifest the glory of God
that is within us, and as we let our own light shine. We unconsciously give
other people permision to do the same.” The article have the bigest mean
for us, it tell us that we not be afraid about the ability we have, we should
show up what we can do.
At
the Regional step, the conflik began arise. Conflict in this movie is when Tanya
(Akeelah Mother’s) comes and ask Akeelah to go down from stage. Tanya, still
depressed at her husband's death and concerned for her daughter's grades and
frequent truancy,
forbids Akeelah from participating in the state bee. Akeelah responds by
forging her father's signature on the consent form. She memorizes all the
winning words from past spelling bees and works with Dr. Larabee, learning not
only words but life lessons as well. During the Regional bee, Tanya
interrupts and forces Akeelah off the stage at possible cost of
disqualification if she does not return for her next word. After an intense
discussion with Dr. Larabee and Mr. Welch, Tanya relents, asking Akeelah how
she thinks she should be punished. Akeelah suggests not being allowed to
continue in the bee, which her mother says would not be a punishment to
Akeelah, but to the two men who worked hard to sponsor her. Akeelah then
suggests double her amount of chores for a month, which her mother accepts, but
instead makes three months.
Finally, Akeelah win at the 3th place, Javier in 2nd place and Dylan in 1st
place.
Akeelah
be a famous girl. But in other side she loss her coach. Dr. Larabee will leave
Akeelah study alone. He gives Akeelah 5000 words to be studied. Akeelah loss
her motivated, she tell to her mom that she will not participate in Spelling
Bee again. But her Mom gives motivation to Akeelah, and Akeelah get more
spirite from her Mom, her Brother, her Sister and the other people around her,
she believe that she can do the Spelling Bee.
On the National Spelling Bee.
Javier, Akeelah and Dylan show good performance. But Javier must stop and he is
include to the best five. And the finalist is Dylan and Akeelah. On the break,
Akeelah unintention look Mr Chiu (Dylan father’s) make a conversation with
Dylan. He wanted Dylan to be a winner, in this condition Akeelah Try to help
Dylan, she makes wrong spelling. Dylan unbelieve if Akeelah can’t spell
corectly, finally Dylan do same mistakes with Akeelah. After that they make
agreement to done Spelling Bee fairly. They can spell all the word corectly.
Finally they are be co-winner. This happened the frist time, all of people
happy such as Mr. Chiu, Mrs. Anderson, Mr. Larabee and manymore who watch the
spelling bee.
This movie have a lot of
positive thing. The movies give us inspiration to be able to beat the fear of
ourselves. This movie full of inspiration, spirit, and motivation. But this
movie have a debility too. In this movie is still seen
racism from some
of the characters, giving rise to
social jealousy. And also there are some
scenes that do not fit with the
culture in Indonesia, for example when Javier
kissing on the cheek Akeelah, it is an
example that is not good for
children.
The moral value that try to show in this
film is how we are able to beat the fear that
is within us and make it a force capable of pushing us up to the peak of glory. In this film is also explained that a big thing comes from simple
things. So by doing simple things that we
can get greater results.
After watching the movie Akeelah
And The Bee. I have some opinion about the movie, is divided into three kinds,
there are according to teacher’s point of view, according to parent’s point of
view and according to student’s point of view.
1.
According to teacher point of view
Akeelah and The Bee Movie is a film that gives an idea
of how should a teacher can
provide motivation and encouragement to students.
2.
According to parent’s point of view
This film gives an idea of how should parents be able to give love and
motivation to the children,
so the child can
better embody the spirit again in his dreams. Parent should not
be very coerce want to chid, and don’t be indefferent to chid.
3.
According to student’s point of view
Of the film,
we are given an overview of how we as students should
be able to beat the biggest fears
that exist within us and is able to turn it into strength to achieve all our dreams
There are very few sentences that have
meaning in the film. For example “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate our deepest fear is that we are powerful

to do the same.” And “You know that feeling where everything feels right? Where you dont
worry about tomorow or yesterday. But you feel save and know you do the best
you can. These the word for that feeling, its call LOVE, L-O-V-E. And thats
what i feeling for all my family and all my coaches in my neighbourhood when i
come from, when i learn how to spell.”
